Social media, free events, webinars, advertising, speaking…everything you do must earn its keep.
Not producing? Show the freeloader the door.
Hold your team accountable and hold your customer-producing efforts accountable.
Simple to say, yet too many businesses don’t do it because they don’t know, frankly, what is producing and what isn’t.
Do you know what’s producing for you?
I can tell you without a moment’s hesitation—it’s a stone-cold truth—that every success business person we’ve ever worked with knows their numbers.
Without real, solid data, those good, smart decisions cannot be made.
What do you stop doing because it’s just not doing anything for you? What do you continue doing because…well..it’s rockin’ the house. What do you test, do anew, to see if it improves response?
Tracking.
Not sexy. Maybe not fun. Not what you got into your business to do.
So what?
Your time has come to set up some systems and processes that enable you to make smart decisions.
So often people tell us they have no more time. Yet, part of the reason they have no available time rests squarely on the fact that they are spending some of that valuable time doing things that do nothing.
Track everything you spend time, money and effort to produce.
When you hold a webinar, track how many people opened your emails. Which subject line got the biggest open rate. Which email got the most click-throughs. How many people clicked through and didn’t sign up.
When you speak, track how many people fill out your form to get on your list. Track which subject generates the most interest. Pay attention when the room goes “ah!” Absolutely keep track of exactly what you said that got people moving to the back of the room to buy.
Set up time on your calendar to set up the systems and then analyze what you see.
Track.
Everything.
Or spend your valuable, precious, limited time hanging out with freeloaders.
Promise.
Go forth and do great things,
Martha Hanlon and Chris Williams
