I thought I had heard them all.
Then my friend informed me she had taken a position as Chief Revenue Officer for a start-up.
It sounded like another one of those made-up titles designed to impress.
Yet, when I realized what this position entailed, it made total sense. So much sense, we all should integrate it into our businesses.
Chief Revenue Officer. One person responsible for all the revenue-generating activities and processes in a business. Marketing, sales, pricing, customer support, and revenue management.
Sounds like you already. You’ve had the title all along. You just didn’t realize it.
So congratulations! The title suits you…Chief Revenue Officer.
But it’s not just a new title. It’s a new way of thinking about how you lead your business to make money.
You own the responsibility for generating revenue, whether you’re doing it all yourself or leading a team that performs parts of the overall duty. Either way, the accountability of generating revenue belongs to you.
This title makes the art of generating revenue a continuous flow, not something broken into non-associated parts. I like that.
And you really can’t miss the point of your business—to generate revenue.
So how much do you want this year?
How much do you want today?
Not sure? Let me make a suggestion…how about a $10K Day? How about a lot of $10K days?
What if you had a $10K day each month? Each week? Every day??
Did I just ruffle some of your beliefs? I did!
Think a $10K Day every month or week or day is crazy talk, just not possible for you? Or maybe that little voice in your head just said, “You don’t know how to do that.”
Hush little voice.
I’m glad to poke silly beliefs because many of them are just cra-cra. And this might be one of them.
Here’s your assignment for this week… super easy, too.
First, sit with the idea that a $10K Day, $10K Week, $10K Month is totally possible for you. Feels pretty good, right?
Now how does your business change? How does your life change because you’ve discovered that as Chief Revenue Officer, you can create the revenue you want? Write the changes down, and live in this space all week.
You’re going to have an eye-opening seven days.
Yes, there’s more. And we’ll show you how to do it. Soon.
Go forth and do great things,
Martha Hanlon and Chris Williams
