Evaluate your year with customersEverything happens for a reason.

Recently, I stumbled upon notes I’ve been gathering for years. Statements that are so true, yet you don’t remember them or keep them close as you develop your business and sort through all the why-did-that-happens that perplex you during the year.

And then events come along and make you believe what you’ve written and saved in some dark, forgotten place.

Let me share:

You change so that you can learn to let go.

Things go wrong so you can appreciate them when they go right.

You believe lies so eventually you’ll learn to trust yourself.

Before the beginning of great brilliance there must be chaos.

The first step towards getting somewhere means you decide you are not going to stay where you are.

If you fight for your limitations, you get to keep them.

And somehow good things fall apart so that better things can fall together.

We’re at that time of the year when reflection and reevaluation should be on your calendar, whether you’re at the end of your business year or right about in the middle.

I’m sharing these tenants because they are more than just thoughts. They are your guidance for evaluation.

What did you let go of…that you needed to let go of?

What’s gone right…and why?

When did you step up to trust your instincts, your choice… and were rewarded?

What’s came off the tracks…and what great brilliance took its place?

What decision did you make that moved you forward… because you no longer wanted to stay where you were?

Did you fight for your limitations…and keep them? Or did you fight them off?

And lastly, don’t worry about the good things that fell apart…what great things fell together to replace them?

For an even better year next year, examine this year. Don’t let it just slip by.

Things happen for a reason. Know the reason.

Go forth and do great things,
