If you’re like me, the holidays can sweep you up a bit.
Cause you to lose track of where you are and what you should be doing.
So as a public service…I’m just that kind of gal…I want to share with you critical dates to be marked on your calendar (adjust the dates by a day if you’re one of those lucky people to be summering in Australia or New Zealand…or the like):
- Free Shipping Day (Dec 18)—this is it. The last day that merchants promise to ship for free and get it to its destination by Christmas Eve.
- Super Saturday (Dec 20)—the final Saturday before Christmas. It brings out the last-minute shoppers who’ve ignored all the other opportunities and can’t-miss sales. Consider this an aggressive day but less frantic than Black Friday.
- Uh-Oh Tuesday (Dec 23)—Christmas falls on a Thursday this year so Tuesday is the “uh-oh” day if you haven’t done your shopping. It’s time to pull yourself together, don your gay apparel and act fast.
- Guy Shopping Day (Dec 24)—okay, Gentleman, start your engines! And no gifts from the drugstore just because you don’t want to brave the mall.
- Open Your Stuff Day (Dec 25)—formerly known as “Christmas”
- Boxing Day (Dec 26)—the day you box up the stuff you don’t want to take back to the stores.
- The Festival of “Can I Take It Back for Cash” (Dec 27)—what do you mean you only offer a store credit???
- The Feast of Saint Regiftus (Dec 28)—“When I saw it, it just screamed your name!”
- Spend More Responsibly Resolution Eve—I promise to spend on my important things in 2015…like my business.
- Boo Boo Day (Jan 6)—this day hurts. You just got your holiday credit card bill.
Now that we have all of that out of our system how about we promise to be wiser in 2015?
