Believing is seeing.
Yes, I know we usually hear it the other way around. Yet, ask yourself how often have you seen the path when you start by believing it’s possible.
When you believe your business goal, you see yourself making it.
When you believe your prospects and customers will lead better lives and achieve their dreams through their work with you, you see the phone in your hand and how to sell more.
When you believe you have all the talent you require already in your possession, you see the path to find more customers.
When you believe money will flow in, you see it’s possible to hire Team to support your work.
When you believe, you see.
I often think that it’s a lack of believing that causes the most problems for us in attaining our goals. I chalk up the chronic disinterest (desire?) in putting a business plan on paper as the result of a lack of believing in your goal.
I strongly suspect that an unwillingness to sit down and do a revenue model/forecast comes from a lack of belief in your goal. “I couldn’t possibility make $500,000 dollars this year.” Or $1 million or $120k. Whatever the number might be.
When you utter things like that, you’ve actually created a different belief—a belief that you can’t do it.
What do you believe about your business this year?
Do you believe you’ll make your revenue goal?
Do you believe that you can actually afford Team to support your efforts, so you don’t have to do everything yourself, including the things you may not be very good at doing?
Do you believe that your prospects really do want to hear from you…not just via email or visiting your website…but through your phone calls?
Do you believe that 2014 will be your very best year ever?
When you believe, you’ll see.
Sit down today…sometime this week at the latest…and write down the things you believe about your business in 2014.
Don’t overthink this. The call’s coming from inside the house.
Go forth and do great things,
Martha Hanlon and Chris Williams
