…or is this your biggest obstacle?
Remember that question I asked you a couple of weeks ago?
What is your biggest obstacle in 2016?
I asked you to ponder it and email me your answer.
Answer #3 was “I don’t have enough time (here’s our discussion on that obstacle). I’m betting Answer #2 will hit home for too many of you…
ANSWER #2: “I don’t have enough customers.”
We hear it all the time, and when we ask what the person is doing to get customers, the answers are pretty sad.
…because the answers usually are “not very much.”
That’s what causes good people like yourself to hang a “Going Out of Business” sign on your virtual business door.
I know you know potential customers are not just going to come knocking on your door. They aren’t going to visit your website and have a “EUREKA!!” moment and call you immediately.
And if you’re relying on referrals, yet doing nothing constructive to encourage referrals, ask yourself what you’ll do when they just dry up.
The heart of the solution is marketing; getting yourself out there to find just the right prospects for your business.
Doesn’t matter if you get yourself out there on-line or off-line, as long as your Ideal Customer is there (but you wouldn’t believe…actually, you might…how many people market without even knowing if their Ideal Customer hangs out where they are marketing and spending their precious money).
Want to do something TODAY to begin to bring in more customers to your business?
- Create a written, detailed profile of who your Ideal Customer is, including all the important pieces of information about them (you know, demographics and psychographics)
- Then gather insights about them. What their aspirations are, the obstacles standing in their way and what their built-in buying driver is (there are only two…you’re in luck).
- Listen when you’re in the company of your Ideal Customer. What language do they use to express their aspiration (in the field you work in like health care or finance or elder care or whatever), and remember this isn’t their aspiration with you. Use their words not yours when marketing.
- Now make a list of all the people and businesses you know and want to know who fit that profile (here’s some help with this step. Get these 2 strategies because they’ve turned the tide for hundreds of our clients).
- Stop waiting and believing your Ideal Customer will just show up, get referred to you by some magical source, or call you out of the blue. That’s not the Law of Attraction; that’s the Law of Self-Deception.
- Get into action. You can hope for customers, or you can follow the plan above.
When you follow those six steps and get the 2 strategies we’re handing you, there’s absolutely no reason why you won’t have plenty of customers in 2016.
Or you can keep wringing your hands that you don’t have enough. You have plenty. More than enought. You’re just not seeing them.
