It’s coming soon. That special time when champions are crowned…when the best of the best have their moment in the spotlight.
The Winter Olympic Games begin on February 3 and right now, all over the world, athletes are training, preparing to hit their peak performance at just the right time.
It’s like that in business too.
We set a goal, plan, practice, prepare and work hard to perform at our best at just the right time.
If you want 2022 to be your Gold Medal year, do these 5 things that Olympic champions do.
Believe in yourself – The road to victory starts with the belief that it is possible. Mindset is what sets champions apart from other competitors. In fact, the mind is such a powerful instrument; it can deliver literally everything you want through the power of positive expectation. The Law of Attraction tells us that what we focus on expands. So, focus on your strengths and the likelihood of success to bring about the positive results you desire.
Keep your eye on the prize – Visualize your success as if it were already real. See yourself landing that new client, hitting #1 on the best seller list, taking that dream vacation, or depositing the check that takes you over the top of your revenue goal. Involve as many of your senses as possible in this mental rehearsal. Never lose sight of that moment of victory.
Train and practice consistently – In order to succeed, you must keep doing the right things consistently and persistently over time. Using the right systems and best practices are essential to getting the right result. Just like an athlete, build up the muscle memory of high-performance actions so that they become habit, and you can produce that winning performance time and time again.
Keep cool under pressure – Just like championship sports, the world of business can be a high- pressure environment. As an entrepreneur you will face both internal and external pressure that can intensify as your ambitions grow higher. Being able to stay the course and make wise decisions even when things get tough will ensure that you keep moving forward toward the goal.
Get the right coach – Even the best athlete has a coach to provide feedback, encouragement, and course correction. Often the coach is someone who has already been a champion themselves. Great coaches know what it takes to do the job and what can get in the way. Your business coach can keep you motivated, ensure that you stay on course and get you past the stumbling blocks…whether with a gentle boost or a sharp prod.
The Olympics only roll around every four years, but it’s always championship season in business. Make 2022 your Gold Medal year.
Blessings,
Chris
