You’re standing in the way of your success.  You’re the culprit stalling your prosperity.  You’re the one stopping up “the works.”

Of course, we all do it at some time.  It’s not just you.

Yet, only you can ultimately move you to the side and permit success to roll in.  You can seek insights from a mentor or coach.  But only you can take the action.

And there are signs.

Signs you’re in your own way.

Stuff like…

You’re not doing the work. Or the right work.  You’re letting easy things grab your time.  Stuff like playing solitaire, reading your emails, planning to plan the plan, making your programs perfect (they can’t be), jumping up to handle alleged family emergencies, and I’m sure a pile of other things.

You’re not putting yourself in the finest path to your opportunity.  Don’t know what the best path is?  Oh, let me share…it’s marketing and selling.  Did I just hear a groan of pain??  Ya, sure, perhaps you’re not the very best at either.  Part of the reason you aren’t the best or even getting better might be this…are you even trying to get better????  Marketing and sales are learned skills.  Get better.  Make more money.  Then you can hire some team to do it for you.

You’re doing the “housekeeping.”  I call housekeeping tasks things like bookkeeping, paperwork, filing, operating your software-based systems and the like.  You won’t let go because you think only you can do these things or only you can do it best or they’re a great place to “play busy.”  These things can be done by others.  Instead, make a list of “only the things that only you can do.”  Do those.  Farm out the rest.  Then take the time you’ve just saved and go market and sell.

You don’t believe in yourself.  Maybe you can’t believe that someone out there in that big world would actually want to buy your stuff.  Why should they choose you when there are so many other people out there who have done it longer?  Or you perceive better?  That evil voice in your head says very evil…and untrue…things, and you’re sucking them up as truth.  They are lies.  Tell the voice to go bother someone else.

All of this adds up.  Each puts you squarely in the way of your own success.  You become Roadblock #1.

Are you committed to your success?

Okay, that was a YES.  So find just one thing that you’re doing that’s a roadblock to your success and eliminate it this week.

Just one thing to start.  A first step.  Then you can tackle a second.  And a third.

Let’s make something other than you Roadblock #1.

Go forth and do great things,

MARTHA and CHRIS
