I See You!

I Am Here!

For centuries African bushmen greeted each other in this way.  When one becomes aware of another coming out of the brush, they exclaim, “I See You!” and the one approaching rejoices with, “I Am Here!”

Such bearing witness is so simple and yet profound.  Having “who we are” and “where we’ve been” to be seen.

I share this with you today because my relationship with Wide Awake Business has changed.

Many of you know I sold my interest of Wide Awake Business to Chris last year, and after a year of careful transition, Chris will be the voice you hear in messages like these.

I will continue to work as a mentor, coach and advisor to Wide Awake Business clients as I also pursue what I call my “Inspiration Stage” of personal growth.

I want you to know, as people in my life who have validated me by seeing me and exclaiming so, that you mean so much to me.

And in return, I want you to know you are seen and validated.

Have the courage to express yourself.  After all, you are art in all forms creating a beautiful trail of all-too-human attempts to say, again and again, “I Am Here.”

Being seen enables us to claim our lives, and I am claiming the next stage of mine.  In this “Inspiration” stage of mine my new role means I am passing this gift on to others, the gift of being seen for who you are and where you have been.  And just as important is the joy with which it is declared “I See You!”

The joy of first seeing and first knowing.  This is the gift of love.  And I do love each of you and what you have meant to me.

My wish for you as you go forward is to be seen with joy and to proclaim with equal astonishment and innocence, We Are Here.

We can do this for each other.

For as stars need a dark space to be seen, as waves require shore to break, as the morning dew needs grass to rest upon, our vitality depends on how we exclaim and rejoice, “I See You!” “I Am Here!”

With immense love,

Martha
