I have two dogs.
Jasper and Tally are dogs bred with acute hunting instincts, though we don’t hunt with them.
They spend much of their day watching the birds. Hence, I spent some of my day watching the birds.
And watching birds makes me think of you (bear with me…).
Watching birds, you’ll see their wings grow and expand, stretching across the invisible patches of air they sense. They might start out a bit tentatively, and then as confidence grows, they lift off and soar. They circle the sky, glide and land.
Watching them, it’s obvious their goal is to fly. Being aloft is their true destination.
Flying is your true goal, too. Being aloft, your destination, your true fate.
Yet, we’re not quite as good at flying as the birds. We humans often question our ability to fly. We stall out when we get obsessed with how we will do it…if we can do it. All these hesitations and conditions…your “yes, buts” and “what ifs”…impede your flight.
As the holiday season wraps around us, and our year comes to its natural end, it’s time for you to shed your hesitations.
May 2017 be the year you fly. Because you, like the birds, are meant to soar.
Go forth and do great things,

Martha Hanlon and Chris Williams
P.S. Your last gift from us this holiday supports families a bit close to home.
We have made a donation to Second Harvest in your name and that of all our friends and clients. This holiday season please share your abundance…your wealth, your wisdom, your friendship…with someone in need.
You have so much to offer someone.
