One down. Eleven months to go to hit your business objective.
How did you do in January?
Did you work your plan…did you develop your plan for the year? Did you get your products or services ready? Did you make your sales calls? Did you follow-up? Did you make your January revenue target?
We’re almost half way through the first quarter of the year. The great part about opening the calendar year as a force to be reckoned with?
You’re ahead of your goal.
You don’t have to push uphill to make up for months when you weren’t on your game.
Need to jump-start the year? Or maybe push the pedal to the metal for even greater results?
Here are some ways to jump on that right now:
Eliminate The Non-Productive Work: We all fall into it at times—checking our email more than we need to, getting sucked into the Facebook vortex, organizing our workplace, planning to make the product perfect. However, those things are not the best use of your time. Two activities—only two right now—deliver the goods. Marketing and sales. Put down all other activities for February and focus on marketing and selling. Period.
Tap Your Gold: When was the last time you spoke with your former customers? They represent a gold mine for you. They’ve already gone through the painstaking process of choosing you over others, and have experienced your brilliance. But they probably haven’t reached their true aspiration. What do they require next? You know. You’re the expert. They aren’t. Pick up the phone and reconnect.
Call Your Warm Leads: You’ve got potential customers with whom you’ve spoken…but have you followed up on that initial (or second or third) conversation? Very few businesses have what I call the “One-Call Business.” Most prospects today require two, five—as many as 20 contacts—before they are ready to say “yes” to you. Your phone call isn’t bothering them (we hear that all the time). You are the expert. You have the solution that solves your prospect’s problem. Why don’t you want to make their lives better? Pick up the phone.
Go make some money.
That’s your assignment for this week.
Go forth and do great things,
Martha Hanlon and Chris Williams
