Would you be ready if this happened to you?

Coffee company's Super Bowl ad will bring loads of customers

Would you be ready if millions of people saw your commercial on TV this weekend?

Death Wish Coffee had better be.

Death Wish Coffee, a small business in upstate New York, will be one of the commercials running during Super Bowl 50.

In 30 seconds…plus all the publicity about their selection…Death Wish Coffee went from “the caffeine purveyor to many” to a “java source soon-to-be-known by millions.”

Would you be ready if such an opportunity happened for you?

Intuit Quickbooks ran a contest for small businesses across the U.S. offering a chance to win some very big exposure.  Intuit would pay for a Super Bowl commercial that would cost over $5 million for 30-seconds of fame.

And over 100 million people would see.

Would you be ready if your greatest wish—for more customers—came true?

Would you have the team ready to roll?

Would you have enough product on the shelves or bandwidth to deliver your services?

We’ll see how Death Wish handles it (hopefully, their name isn’t an omen).

They’ve brought on more staff.  Stock-piled product.  Bought more roasters.  Addressed their shipping ability.  And they are projecting they’ll go from selling 1,000 pounds a day to a quarter of a million pounds ready for sale.

When Chris and I talk about turning your business into a machine, Death Wish Coffee is a great example about the difference between the two.

At least on paper, Death Wish is ready to go.  They’ve put the processes, systems and team in place for growth.  We’re about to see how they do.

Which leads me back to you…would you be ready if a big growth opportunity came your way?
