I can’t believe I’m doing this…there’s something more we can learn from McDonald’s??
Yep.
So you know the “breakfast all day” thing they finally got around to doing after years of customers begging them to do it?
And you know last week we talked about Lesson #1 we can actually learn from McDs and apply to our own biz?
And now there’s actually a second Lesson we can discover from them (I know, I’m kind of stunned, too, but there is more, so why not talk about it).
They have always been pretty adaptable.
In India, McDs serves veggie fare of deep-fried cheese and potato patties. In Israel, you can step right up to the counter for some McFalafels. Mexicans order their McMuffins with refried beans and pico de gallo. In Singapore for business? How about a McRice burger.

Lesson 2 We Can Learn from McDonald’s
You must adapt your products and services to match the wants (not needs) of your customers. Adjust your offerings to your Ideal Customers.
The key here is “what do your customers want?” Not need. You, as the expert, know what they need. Your Customers, on the other hand, are out searching for what they want.
Offer what they want, and they will listen to what you have to say.
Think through what adjustments you should be making to your Product Funnel and make a vow to adjust before the New Year.
Go forth and do great things,
Martha Hanlon and Chris Williams
P.S. I also know McDonald’s has more than its share of market problems right now, some driven by their inability to adapt quickly. We’ll save those lessons for another day.
