I was reading my horoscope today written by a very creative guy. The astrologer, Rob Brezsny, tied my horoscope to something that happened to a 16th century Italian painter named Titian (who???).
One of his paintings sold for $16.9 million several years ago. So he must have been pretty good despite the fact I’ve never heard of him (you?).
Michelangelo (him I know) said Titian could have been even greater if he mastered the art of drawing. Apparently, Titian skipped that skip, yet still created paintings we value at millions today.
Guess what?
You can skip steps, too.
Yes, I’m pretty sure you can skip some steps to get to your business goal and give some relief to one of your biggest stated obstacles…not enough time.
But which ones?
The ones that waste your time.
The ones that aren’t contributing anything. The ones people tell you to do but your Ideal Customer doesn’t pay attention to it. The ones you’ve been doing for two years…five years…ten years…and they don’t work anymore. The ones that rearrange the papers on your desk, but make nothing move forward.
Face it.
Some of the things you’re doing are wasting your precious time, time which you don’t have enough of.
Let’s fix that now.
Today (not tomorrow), write down your one, singular measurable goal for this year. It’s most likely how much money you want to gross.
Next, determine the five strategies critical to your success, ones you must keep in play every day to reach your goal.
Finally, take a look at all of your daily activities. Are they delivering against your critical success factors…which in turn bring you to your goal.
Or are they keeping you busy but doing nothing to advance your critical success factors…which keeps you from achieving your goal.
Instead, make a vow to be more like Titian. Skip the things unnecessary to your success.
Go forth and do great things.
